Who We Are — and what we believe —

The Y/A Ministry of Prospect Baptist Church exists for one reason: to know Him and to make Him known. Everything we do flows from that conviction.

Founded 2023
How It Started
In 2023, Prospect Baptist Church launched a dedicated Young Adult Ministry to reach and disciple the 18–30 generation in Albemarle and Stanly County, NC. What began as a desire to see young adults rooted in Christ has grown into a ministry marked by worship, community, and mission — anchored in Philippians 3:12–16.

The ministry recognized a simple truth: young adults don't need to be entertained. They need to be challenged, known, and sent. That conviction shapes everything from our weekly small groups to the Appointed conference.
Our Journey

Our Foundation Scripture
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Only let us hold true to what we have attained. Philippians 3:12–16 · ESV
This passage is not about perfection — it's about direction. Paul isn't claiming to have arrived. He's describing a posture: forget what's behind, press toward what's ahead. For a generation navigating questions of identity, purpose, and faith, Philippians 3:12–16 is a roadmap. You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to press on.
Why We Exist
To Know Him and to make Him known.
This is the purpose statement of the Y/A Ministry of Prospect Baptist Church. It is the reason Appointed exists. It is the reason small groups meet every Sunday. It is the reason we go on mission. Everything flows from this one conviction: a generation that truly knows Jesus cannot help but make Him known.
What This Means for You

We believe God created each person, individually gifted to live in pursuit of their purpose. For this reason, we proclaim the Gospel of Jesus — who calls each one to their God-given purpose — empowering them to carry His message into their unique mission field.

Whether you've followed Jesus for years or you're just asking questions — there is a place for you here. Come as you are. Encounter who He is. Go and make Him known.

Our Doctrine
What We
Believe

The Y/A Ministry of PBC holds to the historic, Christian faith as expressed in the beliefs of Prospect Baptist Church. These are not opinions — they are convictions built on the Word of God.

The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the Word of God — supernaturally inspired, inerrant in the original manuscripts, and the divinely authoritative standard for every age and every life.
The Trinity
We believe the Godhead exists eternally in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — and that these three are one God, coequal and coeternal.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is both God and man — born of a virgin, lived sinless, crucified for our sins, bodily raised from the dead, and returning again personally, bodily, and visibly.
Salvation by Grace
We believe salvation — with its forgiveness of sins and hope of eternal life — is entirely apart from good works, baptism, or human effort. It is of pure grace through faith in Christ alone.
Eternal Security
We believe a true believer is eternally secure — that salvation cannot be lost. Sin may interrupt fellowship with God and bring His loving discipline, but it cannot separate us from His grace.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a person and God — possessing all divine attributes. He indwells all believers at the moment of salvation, sealing them and empowering them to live for Christ.
