Your First Sunday
Here's How It Works

We made it as low-pressure as possible. Pull in, find a face, and follow the steps below — you'll feel at home before the music even starts.

01
Park at the Guest Spots
Guest parking is directly across from the front doors of the Worship Center. Look for the "Guest Parking" flags — you can't miss them. If you need a shuttle cart across the lot, one is available.
02
Find a Greeter at the Door
One of our scheduled greeters will be at the Worship Center entrance. They'll welcome you and point you in the right direction — no awkward wandering.
03
Stop by Guest Services
The Guest Services Desk is in the front foyer. A team member can connect you to a Small Group, give you a class list, and answer any questions — all before the service starts.
04
Join a Small Group at 9:00
If you arrive at 9:00 AM you can jump straight into one of the Y/A small groups before the main service. This is honestly the best way to meet people on your first visit.
05
Worship at 10:30
Blended worship — contemporary music woven with traditional hymns — designed to be vertical: exalting God above our emotions. Real preaching from the Bible. The service runs about an hour.
06
Connect With Someone After
Stick around after the service. The Y/A ministry team will be around — introduce yourself, ask questions, and let us know how we can help. We want to know your name.

What's the Vibe?
What You'll
Find in the Room

PBC isn't a performance. It's a community of people who take their faith seriously and take each other seriously too. The worship is blended — contemporary and hymns together — pointing upward, not inward. Here's what to expect when you walk in.

Blended Worship
Contemporary songs woven with traditional hymns — vertical worship designed to exalt God above our emotions. Genuine, not produced.
Bible-Based Teaching
Straightforward preaching from Scripture. No fluff — the kind of message that meets you where you actually are.
All Generations
PBC is a multi-generational church. The Y/A community is your home base, but you're part of the whole family.
No Pressure
Come anonymous if you want. No one will put you on the spot. We'll let you take it at your own pace.
Before the Main Service
The Y/A Small Groups

If there's one thing we'd tell a first-time visitor, it's this: come at 9:00. The small groups are where real relationships happen. The worship service is an hour. The friendships last longer.

Common Questions
Things People Usually Ask
Do I have to be a Christian to come?
Not at all. We have people at every stage of the journey — some who have followed Jesus for decades, some who are just curious and asking questions, and some who aren't sure what they believe yet. You don't need to have it figured out before you walk in. Come as you are.
What's the difference between the Y/A Ministry and the main church?
The Y/A Ministry is a ministry of Prospect Baptist Church — not a separate organization. We have our own small groups, events, and the Appointed conference, but we worship together as one church on Sunday mornings. Think of it as your home base within the larger family.
Will anyone ask me to stand up or introduce myself?
No. We don't do the "stand up if you're a visitor" thing. You can show up completely anonymous if that's what you need. When and if you're ready to connect, we'll be here — but that's entirely on your timeline, not ours.
What if I'm not from Albemarle or Stanly County?
You're still welcome. A lot of people who come through Appointed are from surrounding areas. If you can't make it to Albemarle weekly, we'll help you find a church home closer to you. Our goal isn't to build our attendance — it's to make sure you're connected somewhere.
I haven't been to church in a long time. Will it be weird?
It won't be weird. The small groups are conversational and real — not formal or stuffy. The worship is blended — contemporary songs alongside traditional hymns — designed to point upward, not perform. Nobody's going to ask you to recite anything or do something you don't know how to do. Just show up. That's the whole first step.
How do I get connected to the Y/A Ministry specifically?
The best first step is the Connect page — fill out the form and someone from the Y/A team will reach out within 48 hours. Or just show up Sunday at 9:00 AM and walk into one of the small groups. Both work equally well.

We'll See You
